I think this is William Carlos Williams. I am so glad that he got to touch a palm tree. I am sad that he never wrote about the experience of touching a palm tree. I understand, though, because touching a palm tree is nothing special, although some say it is a very spiritual experience. They say: when you touch a palm tree, you should remove your hat, like you do in church and fancy houses.
