THE REASON I DRANK BUDWEISER AS A CHILD
All the great words like hops rice and best barley
and Beechwood and trademark and aging and
drinkability and those beautiful acorns. I think
they’re hops. And all those stars and mountain
tops and that belt or cinch reminds me of a
horse. The blue white and red and it looks
like a dollar bill from a hundred years ago.
The cold feel of a thick can and all those
circles and The King of Beers. And all those
lines that look like the gay nineties a hundred
years ago and thirty years. How could you drink
Budweiser and not be happy How could you
not be happy. Why
I didn’t become an alcoholic:
I was just too happy.
