I saw a little plant overturned by the wind at the grocery store. "Poor thing," I said, and turned it right side up. The moon was finally visible after all that rain. Then a truck tried to run me over.

I recommend that everyone jump start their car once before they die, but not right before they die.
Weeping Cherry Trees look sad even before they are planted. But once they are planted, they look happy every year, for about a week or so.

I think if you put enough small illustrations together, they can be bad illustrations. But when they are together, they make one big illustration that's a good illustration.

There should always be a little boy fishing as he rests against a gravestone, one of a man in pub suffering from debauchery, and one little girl whose dress wants ribbon tying, by her Mum.
David Copperfield is a man who is best read nine pages at a time.

Ants are afraid of loud noises. They are very sensitive. I tip toe inside but I suppose I should tip toe outside, too.

I looked at infrared photos today and they kept reminding me of something and then I realized it was heaven.

WOODEN SPOONS

Many recipes say “Stir with a wooden spoon.” When you research why you should stir with a wooden spoon, you discover there are many reasons: wooden spoons are light; wooden spoons are non-conductive; wooden spoons won’t scratch the bottom of your pan; wooden spoons have a high heat tolerance; wooden spoons are insulated. My favorite reasons, though, are these: wooden spoons are nice to look at, and wooden spoons feel good in your hands.

PULVIS ET UMBRA SUMUS

No matter how quickly
I walk down the street
my shadow always
gets kind of dusty

That’s why I walk slowly.
Do I get more dusty?

Sometimes my friends
whisper in my ear.
