LITTLE MICHAEL JAGGER

THINGS I UNDERLINED IN AESCHYLUS' THE SUPPLIANTS MONDAY NIGHT

A congregation glittering, bizarre in alien robes and diadems.

I claim in proudly through a childblessed cow.

All heregathered are your lords. Praise them with trembling. Settle in their cleanness.

A pitying of doves who know hawkfear.

On this voyage of women who set sail where Nile twists through saltpolished sand.

We fly before we were pinioned over a trembling sea.

They say He took bull's form and covered her.

Sea's blue night will heal over slashing, black oars.

My voice is the wail of all funerals.

A VISITOR FROM HAWAII

It makes me feel nice and warm and breezy.

THE ALT SIDE OF GUMBY

Art Clokey explores the peacock, rolling things, stair objects and FreudClams.

I THINK

I think this is William Carlos Williams. I am so glad that he got to touch a palm tree. I am sad that he never wrote about the experience of touching a palm tree. I understand, though, because touching a palm tree is nothing special, although some say it is a very spiritual experience. They say: when you touch a palm tree, you should remove your hat, like you do in church and fancy houses.

The Grand Plié Poems

#1

MY DOG DIED LAUGHING LAST NIGHT

It’s the way he would have wanted to go.
I was in the kitchen executing a grand plié.
He was in the kitchen too. At his water bowl.
He stopped drinking from his water bowl.
Nobody thinks that I am elegant.

BALLERINAS LOOK LIKE FROGS

Ballerinas look like frogs when they
execute a grand plié at the barre.

Usually they are wearing black
or pink.

Their flesh is somewhat brown.

But otherwise they look like frogs.

Frogs that have decided to try
something new.

Although it isn’t really that new
for frogs.

Today there is nothing new for frogs
in the world of ballet.

Abigail Adams asked John Adams for many things
for her children, but only one thing for herself.

A green umbrella from Paris.

I would like that umbrella if nobody else wants it.
If it still is green and from Paris. If it ever was.

DESCRIBING KATE MOSS’ FACE TO A GUY WHO IS SITTING DOWN LIKE A FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER EXCEPT HE LIVES IN OKEECHOBEE WITHOUT A CAMERA

Her neck is a seashell, but you don’t know what this is because you don’t live near the ocean.

Her lips are the color of a Ferrari after you have given it a good buffing and a generous coat of wax.

Her cheeks are the color of rust on an old lawn mower in the shed just as the sun comes into that old shed and shines on that old lawnmower.

Her eyes are the color of World War I uniforms that the British wore, which is interesting, since Kate Moss is British.

I think Kate Moss is British.

Her eyebrows are sort of bumpy not buttery smooth - if you went down them in a sled your butt would hurt and you would slide down into her nostrils, which look like a magnificent hawk that hunters love to shoot when the hawks swirl up in the sky and drift in the clouds in the sky.

If you are lucky, you might not end up in her nostrils when you sled down her eyebrows but instead her mouth, which is scrumptious, and occupied by teeth that look like polished Chicklet peppermint gum nougats.

These are the gum nougats that Ferrari owners prefer to keep in their cars. It relaxes them, which is extremely important if you drive a Ferrari.

Kate Moss’s hair is like Eddie Munster’s hair.

It’s the only thing about Kate Moss that I don’t understand.

But I don’t want to either. I like a little mystery in my life, and a dash of laughter.

Kate Moss is looking at you right now and asking you why.

Tell her you don’t know why. That’s just the way things are. But everything changes.

Everything changes.

Kate Moss wants to know when.

MY HEART REALLY PUMPS IN THE LITTLE PLACES

When I hear someone having fun outside.
I stand by the door and moan.
Until I hear someone say “How awful.”
And they all go inside and keep talking.
And I go to their front door and listen carefully.
I make sure they are still having fun.

HE LOOKS SO COOL LIKE THIS

Not him...HIM.

WHO WAS THE GREEN GODDESS?

I say it was Athena. I know her eyes were grey but that doesn’t mean herself wasn’t green. Green can mean fresh, clean, new, or green can mean tarragon, cucumbers, chives, leaf, oil chuckling down the spout. In this case, if you mix grey and green together, you get green. That’s because they say wisdom (that was Athena) is never new, but someone else, named Ralph, said, It’s new all the time and I agree with Ralph, it’s new all the time. I personally never liked the idea of a green goddess until I got older, just like tarragon, no thank you, and grey seemed like a funny color to make things clear. But I woke up one day and said, Yes, I would like some tarragon, some cucumbers, some chives, some leaf. Oh, why not go all the way - make it a goddess, a fresh one. Paint the skies with so much grey green, and Hello! my sandwich. My day continued in this way for some time until it was more than one. But why? They also say your heart should be firm but I don’t think it should. It really cannot work at all until it is so soft that it almost falls apart. Work hard, she says, become soft. And that takes time.
